About the band |

Abrahms Family is a rock band founded on the 4th of February 1999 in Israel. There’re six members in the family: Gennady Birnberg (vocals) Igor Khait (keyboards) Omri Plotnik (drums) Stas Sergienko (guitar) Sasha Mescheriakov (bass) Sergy Zenkin (technician) Style There’s no particular style the band is trying to follow, but there’s always a search after its own original style and sounding. The music is being composed by all the band’s members and it takes its roots from a large variety of styles, from Classical Music to Blues, Psychedelic Rock and Heavy Metal. It should be also mentioned that the songs are written in English. The reason is quite obvious: it is the only possible language for a rock music. Working place There’s a place that can be referred to as the band’s home, the small town-club called “Beit Dani”. The band members are usually there rehearse at least twice a week and sometimes record their demos. Since no other band has ever stayed in “Beit Dani” as long as Abrahms Family, the band has used to be called “The Beit Dani Home Band”. Performances Abrahms has already performed on many different stages in its home town as well as outside it (so far there were about 60 performances). There are many more performances to come! Hi! I’m Gena Birenberg, the band’s singer. Here is some info about me: Bio Born in 1980 in Southern Ukraine (it was USSR then) in a city called Odessa which is on the Black Sea coast. My father in his youth played in a band too, but I think it was less serious than me and Abrahms. When I was eight, I think, I wished to learn to play piano. My parents found me a teacher and she came to us something like once a week. Few weeks later I found myself bored. Since then I never took piano lessons. In the age of 13 I started to learn to play a guitar. I started to write my first songs in age of 15. In August 1998 me and my friends from the neighborhood founded a band which was called “Garfileds”. This band soon broke up and me and Fima founded and new band which known now as AF. Influences The Beatles (Paul McCartney, John Lennon), Pink Floyd, Queen (Freddie Mercury), The Doors (Jim Morrison), Led Zeppelin (Robert Plant), Deep Purple (Ian Gillan), Black Sabbath (Ozzy Osbourne), Metallica (James Hetfield), Машина времени, ДДТ, Claus Meine (Scorpions), Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden). |

Sergy about himself: Bio Born in Mordovia in 1981 in USSR in Saransk City, near Saranka river (I used to call it “Zasranka”). My father was a professional electrician. Technical education When did I first see a soldering iron? I really don’t remember, maybe when I was 7. My first electronics experience: I’ve connected a 12Volt motor to a 220Volt socket. First the motor uttered a strange noise and started spinning strangely fast, but shortly it was smoking. My father was very upset about it… Next experience was accidently touching hot soldering iron. It hurt… The third one was grabbing an open 220:48Volt transformer. Nothing happened… (It’s strange, isn’t it?) Technical bio First (but not the last) serious AF project was making 4 multicords 4 channels each. The latest one was SD1010 soundcard installation into the studio table :) Besides, I have many various assignments in the band: ticket collector; video and audio recording of the gigs, speakers dragging,.. in other words, I’m the band’s roaDIE… (Really?) My favorite music: DDT, Машина времени, MANOWAR, Rammstein, House tracks (and maybe some Classic opuses, which sometimes I hear in Marg’s car) My favorite movie: “The Flight of the Navigator” My favorite drink: COLA-A-A!!! My favorite food: meat! P.S. HINAM BA, BARUH HABA! |
